My Running Story:
Well, here I am with 6 weeks left of being pregnant with Baby Haines #1. I have already gained 45 pounds over my normal weight, and I probably have 10 more to go. Depressing, I know. My doctor says, however, that my weight gain is healthy for me and if I go back to my original workout lifestyle, I will be back to normal in "3 to 4 months," according to her predictions. I plan to take that literally.
I ran a half marathon when I was 4 weeks pregnant. Eight weeks later, I was banned from running by my doctor, due to some spotting. Ever since I quit running, I have been doing water aerobics and walking... not quite so effective, seeing as I have gained so much weight! However, the spotting did stop, and for that I am grateful. Nevertheless I cannot wait to get running again! Running is the best exercise for me, with convenience, time, and effectiveness. I have always been able to maintain my weight no matter what I eat, as long as I was running regularly. Now I want to use running and healthy eating to get BACK to the shape I was in!
I want to use this blog for 2 reasons:
1) To help myself get back into my original shape.
2) To help pregnant ladies or moms who just recently had their babies to know that it's good to gain weight while you are pregnant, and it will come off. There is hope.
My Main Goals:
1) Run the Music City Half Marathon on April 26, 2008
2) To be 5 pounds below my normal or "prepregnancy" weight on June 1, 2008
How I Will Get There:
1) Immediately after my postpartum checkup, which I will assume to be around February 18, 2008, I will Run 4 Times a Week without fail
2) My runs will start at a half hour per run, and work up to 2 hours, averaging a 10 minute pace in the beginning with hope to get faster
3) Eat a Balanced Diet
4) No sweets or french fries until I have reached Goal #2
5) I will post weekly my mileage, times, diet progress, and weight loss
My Rewards:
1) I will feel great, back to myself again
2) I can cut my hair as short as I desire
3) I will be able to work out alongside Blake and do triathlons with him
4) I will continue to run, but be a little more lenient about my diet
5) I will feel comfortable in a swimsuit on our Lake Powell Trip in June

I don't know why the pictures aren't working. They were fine when I first did them... I'll figure it out so you can see them.
